Project Title: Turnstile Access Implementation with Destination Control Integration for a Commercial Office Tower
The Challenge
A corporate office tower needed a state‑of‑the‑art access control integration for a landmark corporate tower in the Makati CBD, the nation’s premier financial district. Known as the Wall Street of the Philippines, Makati City is home to multinational headquarters, luxury residences, and high‑end retail spaces. Delivering this project in such a prime location underscores its prestige, compliance readiness, and global standards alignment. The system needed to be ready for turnover and initial occupancy. The solution needed digital integration with fire safety systems during construction, compatibility with Mitsubishi DOAS smart elevators for synchronized building access, and full compliance with local safety and building regulations from day one.
Our Solution
Infinite Systems delivered the turnstile access control tailored for this property. Gunnebo turnstiles, and Sensor Access (UK) door panels were installed as part of the building’s turnover package. The access points— turnstiles, HOP stations, and elevators — were integrated into a centralized monitoring system for real‑time oversight. System workflows supported phased occupancy and multi‑point access for employees, visitors, and contractors.
The Outcome
- Fully operational pedestrian turnstile and door access system at turnover
- Supports 10,000+ daily badge holders with synchronized turnstile, HOP and elevator access
- Reduced risk of unauthorized entries during early occupancy
- Streamlined traffic flow during peak hours from the start
- Achieved full regulatory compliance prior to handover
- Enhanced user convenience and long‑term building security
These turnstile access control solutions ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency for high‑traffic mixed‑use environments.
Smart Lift Integration
The Integration with the Mitsubishi Destination Oriented Allocation System (DOAS) was through the Elevator Secure Gateway (ELSGW) that acted as the gateway between the access control system and the Mitsubishi elevators. This allowed the whole system to create a touchless, synchronized security and elevator dispatch system.
Credentials presented at the TURNSTILE trigger:
- Instant authentication of access rights
- Pre-assigned default destinations for employees/tenants.
- Assignment of the most optimal elevator car
- Display of the assigned elevator car on a screen
- User proceeds to the assigned elevator without the need to press buttons inside the elevator
Credentials presented at the HOP trigger:
- Instant authentication of access rights for default floors
- Pre-assigned default destinations for employees/tenants.
- Credential-based floor selection at hall panels for those who need access to other accessible floors
- Assignment of the most optimal elevator car
- Display of the assigned elevator car on a screen
Credentials presented in the ELEVATOR CAR trigger:
- Instant authentication of access rights for default floors
- Allow users to select other accessible floors in case the user needs to go to a different accessible floor
Result: For the most part, there is no need to press buttons inside the elevator, ensuring faster, safer, and more energy‑efficient vertical transport.
Energy Efficiency Impact
Beyond security and convenience, DOAS integration also delivers measurable energy savings. By intelligently grouping passengers headed to similar floors, the system reduces elevator trips, minimizes idle runs, and cuts unnecessary stops. This optimized dispatching lowers energy consumption, reduces operating costs, and extends equipment lifespan—helping the building achieve a greener footprint while enhancing tenant satisfaction.
Our CSR Commitment
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we actively support and implement technologies that promote positive, green initiatives. By integrating smart, energy‑efficient systems like DOAS, we help buildings reduce their environmental impact while improving tenant experience. This reflects our long‑term commitment to sustainability, innovation, and responsible development in every project we deliver.

Cost Considerations
The investment in a smart access control system depends on several variables:
- Number of lanes
- Turnstile model
- Reader type (card, biometric, mobile, or face recognition)
- Software licensing
- Integration scope (fire safety, elevators, visitor management)
Typical projects in corporate towers range from mid‑six figures to multi‑million pesos, depending on scale and complexity. Infinite Systems provides tailored quotations after assessing building requirements, ensuring cost‑efficiency without compromising security or compliance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How does this system improve building security? A1: By combining turnstiles, access panels, and DOAS integration, unauthorized entry is prevented while ensuring smooth traffic flow.
Q2: Can the system handle large volumes of users? A2: Yes, it was designed for 10,000+ badgeholders daily, ensuring efficiency even during peak hours.
Q3: Is the system energy‑efficient? A3: DOAS integration reduces idle runs and unnecessary stops, lowering energy costs and supporting sustainability goals.
Q4: Can workflows be customized? A4: GuardPoint 10 is API ready and tailored workflows for employees, visitors, and contractors can be contracted as part of a separate work engagement wherein custom workflows can be done specific to client’s requirements.
Q5: How long does it take to implement these kinds of projects? A5: Implementation timelines vary depending on building size and complexity, but projects of this scale typically take 3–6 months from design to turnover, including system integration, testing, and compliance checks.
Q6: How much does a smart access control system cost? A6: Costs vary depending on the number of lanes, turnstile model, reader type, and integration scope. Corporate tower projects can range from hundreds of thousands to several million pesos depending on scale.
