Title: Door and Pedestrian Turnstile Access Implementation for a Mixed-Use Commercial Office Tower
Client (Generalized): A mixed-use commercial office tower in Metro Manila
Challenge:
- Required a modern pedestrian turnstile and door access control system designed for turnover and initial occupancy
- Needed seamless integration with fire safety systems during construction phase
- Required compatibility with Mitsubishi DOAS smart elevator systems for synchronized building access
- Compliance with local safety and building regulations from day one
Solution:
- Designed and installed modern, sleek, and secure Gunnebo turnstiles, and Sensor Access (UK) door access panels as part of the building’s turnover package
- Integrated all access points (parking, turnstiles, and doors) into a centralized monitoring system for real-time oversight
- Developed customized workflows for employees, visitors, and contractors to support phased occupancy and multi-point access
Outcome:
- Delivered a fully operational pedestrian turnstile and door access control system
- Successfully supports a daily crowd of around 10,000 badgeholders with synchronized door, and elevator access
- Reduced risk of unauthorized entries during early occupancy
- Streamlined traffic flow during peak hours from the start
- Achieved full compliance with regulatory standards prior to handover
- Enhanced user convenience and long-term building security
- Mitsubishi Destination Oriented Allocation System (DOAS) integration with turnstile gates creates a seamless, touchless security and elevator dispatch system. When a user presents their credential at the turnstile, the smart system instantly authenticates them, assigns the most optimal elevator car, and displays the assigned car on a screen—all without needing to press a button inside the elevator.
